Lopping usually means cutting branches back to stubs, which leaves a tree sprouting weakly attached regrowth. If you'd rather take garden waste yourself, the City of Greater Bendigo accepts domestic green waste free at Eaglehawk Landfill, up to a 6 x 4 caged trailer, but not stumps or branches over 200 mm thick. Powercor, the distributor for Bendigo, manages trees around its own powerlines at no cost to you, and says only workers it authorises can trim trees within the No Go Zone. The line from the pole to your house is different: Energy Safe Victoria says you're responsible for keeping your own trees at least one metre clear of it.
